This collection consists of his working papers while in office. It also includes information on clubs and organizations that he was active in.
Sub-Series D2: American Iris Society (AIS)
This collection contains the personal and working papers of Mertzweiller, mostly focusing on his work with irises. These include records of his hybridizing experiments, material related to organizations for which he was involved, collaborative efforts, and photographs of iris blooms, plants, and collectors dated from the 1950s onward.

Sub-Series D2: Articles (Reprints and Photocopies)
The collection reflects Arceneaux's involvement with sugarcane, especially as a consultant for the Gulf and Western operation at Central Romana, Dominican Republic. Much of the correspondence and research material is connected with the breeding and selection work carried on there. There is also some material showing Arceneaux's continuing interest in his Acadian heritage.
