This collection contains chiefly papers of Albert Voorhies (1829-1913) who served as Louisiana Lieutenant-Governor (1865-1867) among other elected positions, and long-time member of the State Bar. The papers reflect his interest in state politics; his involvement in the court system especially of Orleans Parish; and his writings on legal theory and state legal practices. There is also material on other members of the Voorhies family.
Donated by the George Voorhies Family, St. Martinville, Louisiana.
