Material on Controversy Stirred by “Freedom Agenda” – Clippings, Articles, 1955-1957
Scope and Contents
This collection contains incomplete internal records of the Lafayette League from its founding. There are also items that show the connectional relationship among local, state, and national leagues. The subject series reflects the range of issues addressed by the League and shows the sort of information gathered to study these concerns. Much of this information comes from the national office as part of an extremely broad and active publication program. For other records of the Lafayette League, especially in the 1960s and 1970s, see the Ollie T. Osborne Papers, Collection 93.
Kay Bates, a charter member of the Lafayette organization, initially donated this collection. Other members have made additional donations.
