This collection contains files of many photographic prints which appeared in "The Daily Advertiser" dealing with local subjects. The collection is strong in news photographs but does not include sports or society subjects. It contains many supplied photographs, including some from the USL (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette) Office of Public Relations/News Services.

The collection is arranged as much as possible by date of publication. Most folders include a guide to identified subjects, arranged chronologically. Boxes 15 through 17 are arranged alphabetically by name of individual or subject.

"The Daily Advertiser" donated much of this collection through the efforts of Chuck Hamsa.
