From the Collection:

This collection contains the personal and working papers of Mertzweiller, mostly focusing on his work with irises. These include records of his hybridizing experiments, material related to organizations for which he was involved, collaborative efforts, and photographs of iris blooms, plants, and collectors dated from the 1950s onward.

Tom W. Dillard, Secretary for the Society for Louisiana Irises, donated this collection.

Biographical / Historical

LISA existed from circa 1978 through 1992 as a section of AIS. In 1992 it was dissolved and SLI became the section of the AIS for Louisiana irises.
