Biographical / Historical
The United Givers Fund (UGF) is Lafayette Parish’s United Way organization, a local effort that increases the organized capacity of people to care for one another. UGF was originally organized to combine many charitable fundraising drives into one annual appeal. It helps reduce costly and competing demands for money and volunteers.
There are many agencies that benefit from UGF. Such organizations include Acadiana Council on Alcoholism, American Red Cross - Acadiana Area Chapter, Boys and Girls Clubs of Acadiana, The Salvation Army, Elderly Blind Services, Faith House, and Hospice of Acadiana. UGF also funds several national agencies that provide services directly to Lafayette Citizens such as the American Social Health Association and the Council on Social Work Education.
