Scope and Contents
This collection consists of correspondence, photographs, certificates, assignment orders, dog tag, military prayer books, and other material while he served in the U.S. Army. Also included are oversize framed photographs.

Biographical / Historical
Claude J. Landry was a native of Valenzuela, Louisiana and a resident of Lafayette since 1950. He was the son of Adlard J. Landry and Odette LeBlanc. He married Marian Yancey of Lafayette and they had one son and two daughters.
Landry served in the U.S. Army for five years during World War II with the 390th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion, 3rd U.S. Army, under General G.S. Patton in the European Campaign. After his service, he worked for Rockwell International until his retirement in 1975. He then became owner and manager of C.J.’s Valve Clinic Inc. for 16 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a charter member of the Petroleum Club of Lafayette. Landry died at the age of 86 and was interred in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
