Biographical / Historical
Frank C. Flowers received his B.A. degree from Louisiana College in 1930. He then received his A.B. degree from Stanford University in 1932, his M.A. in 1939, and his Ph.D. in 1941 from Louisiana State University.
Dr. Flowers taught linguistics at the Southwestern Louisiana Institute/University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) from 1946-1986, as well as acting as the head of the remedial English program. He wrote and published five textbooks and numerous articles while at USL.
