The Acadian Opera Society was founded in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1973. The mission of this organization is to seek support for all forms of musical theater, especially opera, throughout southwest Louisiana. The organization sets up charitable, cultural, and educational activities to stimulate public awareness and unite people of the region to assist in promoting and supporting cultural and creative activities related musical theater.
