This collection consists of mainly surveys of older citizens of Lafayette Parish, reports, financial records and other miscellaneous materials. Mr. F.M. Carson donated this collection.

Biographical / Historical
Between 1967 and 1968, the Lafayette Parish Council on Aging conducted a survey of persons over the age of 65, collecting over 4,100 responses. The principal purpose of the survey was to collect information about older citizens which might serve as a basis for local action programs. The Louisiana Commission on Aging sponsored the project.
