Biographical / Historical
Dr. Joseph E. Riehl was a professor in the Department of English at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana at lafayette). He did extensive research in collaboration with Dr. Edwin Marrs on the letters of Charles and Mary Lamb over the course of about 6 years working toward completition of three columes (of the original six) which Dr. Marrs had published. The project came to a halt when Dr. Riehl became Ill.
