Biographical / Historical
Jim Reeves was an American country and popular music singer-songwriter. His records were on the charts from 1950s-1980s, and he became well known as a practioner of the Nashville sound (a mixture of older country-style music with elements of popular music). He obtained a job as an announcer for KWKH-AM in Shreveport, Louisiana, then the home of the popular radio program Louisiana Hayride.
