Biographical / Historical
Dr. Vijay Raghavan is a professor in computer science at the Center for Advanced Computer Studies, University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He received his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, his M.B.A. at McMaster University, and his Ph.D. in Computing Science at University of Alberta.
Dr. Raghavan's research areas include information retrieval and extraction, data and web mining, big data analytics, and literature-based discovery. He has published hundreds of peer-reviewed articles, written and edited several books and journals, and had at least three patents issued. He has taught at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette since 1986.
