This subseries contains the drafts of the book The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman. The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman is a groundbreaking novel published in 1971. This book chronicles the life of Jane Pittman from the age of 11 to 112 using her memories from emancipation to the Civil Rights Movement. This fictional piece was later turned into a TV movie, which won numerous awards and paved the way for other made for TV movies like Roots. This subseries also contains book and movie reviews, newspaper clippings, Emmy awards, a discussion guide and a Reader’s Digest.
