Scope and Contents

This collection contains Dr. Brandon’s working and personal papers. A large portion of the papers include written notes, in both English and French, on Louisiana history, people, cultures, folksongs, and dances. Many of these notes contain sources that she utilized for her research. Additional series include materials on linguistics and education, correspondence, publications from Dr. Brandon and other colleagues, and notecards listed in alphabetical order containing useful resources.

Scope and Contents This collection contains commercial audio recordings from the personal record collections of Malcolm L. Comeaux and his cousin, the late Lauren C. Post, geographers, authors, and researchers of Louisiana Acadian and Cajun cultures. Some of the recordings were given to Comeaux by Post. Musical genres and styles in the collection include Cajun, Creole, swamp pop, zydeco, country, western swing, and folk music.
