Scope and Contents

This collection contains microfiched unbound Louisiana newspapers dating from 1830 to 1995. Most are from Southwestern Louisiana, although there are some from the northern part of the state.

The Lafayette Gazette from 1893 through 1908 are originals unbound in oversize boxes.

Norris Ceaser donated some editions of the Lafayette Daily Advertiser, the Times Picayune: Dixie Photomagazine, and Tiger Talk.

This collection consists of biographical information of the Ramsey family, photographs, and pedigree charts of the Ramsey and Meyers families. Also included are bound volumes of the Church Point Democrat, 1907-1909

Scope and Contents Materials in this collection were gathered Mr. Wynne. He has a miscellanea of items related to Louisiana including correspondence, documents, flyers, broadsides, announcements, and others. There are several folders of materials related to Huey P. Long (1893-1935). Much of the 19th century documents come from the Bayou Sara / St. Francisville area. Box 2 has been arranged basically by chronology. The newspapers in Box 1 have been microfiched.
