Five letters from John Ripley to his wife in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Ripley was an assistant surgeon in a Vermont regiment stationed in Louisiana at the time. The letters were written from New Orleans (3), Ship Island, Mississippi (1), and Bayou des Allemands (1). These items were scanned by Jim Bradshaw. The location of the originals is not indicated.
Starksville, Mississippi Dairy Business. Tour, 1928
Farmers and businessmen of Lafayette Parish made the trip to Starksville, Mississippi and toured the area. They toured the dairy section of Northern Mississippi. The trip consumed of five days and covered nearly 1000 miles, most of which time the buses bearing the party were going up and down the Mississippi and Louisiana hills.
