Holmes, Walter C. (1944-2023). Collection, 2018-2019
Dr. Holmes never forgot his Louisiana roots, and studying Louisiana plant and wildlife remained one of his great passions. This collection contains two unpublished manuscripts he wrote on Louisiana plants and animals.

This collection consists of John Lynch’s research and personal papers. These papers include correspondence, maps, and research and writings on Whooping Cranes, marsh ecology, wildlife, and more. There are also news clippings and newsletters on Whooping Cranes and orchids, and materials related to the groups he was associated with.

Dr. Nolan was a prolific author, especially of plays. He founded and contributed to local theater groups including The Eavesdrop Theatre and Louisiana Playwrights’ Theatre. This collection contains plays, articles, and books authored by him. There is also some personal material, including correspondence and playbills. Most items are arranged chronologically.
Dr. Nolan’s widow and son, Peggy and John Nolan respectively, donated the collections.
