This collection consists of Conrad’s personal papers. These include ticket stubs, IDs and library cards, conference and symposium packets, invitations, announcements, programs, and flyers from events Conrad attended. During the years he was in school, notes from classes, drafts of papers, and course syllabi are also included, as well as personal ephemera.

Azema Demarais, the granddaughter of Louis George Demaret and raised at the old family home on the Bayou Teche, is the subject of the portrait that is currently displayed in the Jefferson Caffery Reading Room. The collection includes scrapbooks containing clippings which document Mrs. Riehl’s engagements as a speaker, review her various books, and provide other biographical information. Some also include photographs, correspondence, drawings, promotional material and writings. The papers were donated by Mary Alice Fontenot as part of the Women in Louisiana Collection.

The materials in this collection were donated after Collection 97 was processed, so they are placed in a supplemental collection. The contents are very similar to what is in Coll. 97 so the arrangement is comparable. Collection 97.1 includes many items related to the book Acadia Parish: A History to 1900 by Fontenot and Paul Freeland.

Mary Alice Fontenot Riehl and her daughter, Julie Landry, donated these papers.
