From the Collection:

This collection documents the history and activities of the Lanor Records recording label, JON Music (publisher), Swimal Music (publisher), and Lanor Records and Sound Center Recorders recording studio and retail establishment. The collection consists of original Lanor Records studio recording equipment, musical instruments, historical business records and artifacts, textual materials, and other graphics and textile materials. The business and legal records series includes files with correspondence, recording artist biographies, contracts and licensing agreements, recording session documentation, photographic prints and negatives, and articles and reviews. Textual files are arranged alphabetically by musical artist and music trade/recording industry names, individual and corporate. A featured costume item of the collection is a vest worn by Nathan Abshire. The Lee Lavergne series and Murry Family series cover additional ownership and history aspects of the record label, publishing companies, and recording studios (Church Point and Jennings, LA).
