This collection consists of Dr. Carsten’s personal and working files. Her personal files include materials on education, church activities, her dissertation, and Greek organizations. Her working files include her work with and outside of UL Lafayette, committees, and programs. There are also books with topics ranging from libraries to music.

This collection contains material gathered for his book “Handbook of the American Frontier.” Also included are handwritten notes for the books he authored, and information on the organizations for which he volunteered his time. Furthermore, there is large number of copied documents related to the German Prisoner of War Camp at Camp Ruston, 1943-1945.

This collection consists of correspondence, speeches, transcripts of interviews, publicity, and other materials dealing with the Recorder of Documents. This collection also contains (2) reels of microfilm of scrapbooks dated 1948-1975. The scrapbooks contain newspaper articles and miscellaneous publicity. There are also copies of an interview of Margaret T. Lane on cassette tapes.
