Scope and Contents The Broussard Papers consists of approximately 100 feet of documents arranged in 229 boxes. The bulk of the material has been reproduced on 143 reels of 35 mm microfilm.Approximately 43 percent of the documents are from Robert F. Broussard, and 57 percent from Edwin S. Broussard.In arranging the collection, an attempt was made to reconstruct the original order, or more properly, orders. Durand’s son, Howard Durand, originally donated the collection to the Bayou Teche Museum. It was later transferred to the University Archives and Acadiana Manuscripts Collection with the donor's permission through the efforts of Shane Bernard.

The Longfellow-Evangeline Memorial Park in St. Martin Parish is situated one mile from the town of St. Martinville (known in the early days as Poste Des Attakapas) on the banks of historic Bayou Teche.

This collection contains three separate series of documents collected by Woodrow Marshall. The first are several 18th century legal documents from Great Britain written on sheepskin. The second series contains miscellaneous financial reports and correspondence of the Castillo Family of New Orleans and St. Martinville, 1837-1897. Third are miscellaneous papers related to Alexander Thibodeaux of Breaux Bridge, 1873-1889, n.d.
