New Iberia Road Paving Project. Collection, 1950s, n.d.
During the 1950s the City of New Iberia initiated a major project to pave city streets. This collection consists mainly of photographs taken during this project. Some photographs list streets as incomplete or complete. The photographs show buildings, parks, and vehicles as well as the streets. There are also general records, financial records, correspondence, and maps of New Iberia and some subdivisions.
This collection was donated by Glenn Conrad of New Iberia.
Palmetto and Gulf Railway Company. Letter, 1897
Letter explaining intent to purchase right-of-way through Teche Valley for railroad from Palmetto, LA to Vermilion Bay. The route went through Port Barre, Leonville, Arnaudville, Breaux Bridge, St. Martinsville [sic], and New Iberia. Officers and directors listed as James A. Lee, President; E. C. Roger, Vice-President; Andrew Thorpe, Secretary-Treasurer; Paul DeClouet; T. J. Labbe; W. B. Davis; Alexis Voorhies; and V. P. Guilfoux. The letter is from New Iberia, LA, dated 23 August 1897.

This collection contains and extensive gathering of Southwell’s designs for homes, churches, and public buildings. Also included are general and financial records, correspondence, photographs, working files arranged by subject and title. In addition, there are drawings, sketches, and blueprints of houses/buildings he designed.

This collection consists of material on the Weeks family who resided in New Iberia, Louisiana. It includes biographical information on William F. Weeks, John Moore, and other descendants. There are a number of articles on the history of New Iberia (general), churches, correspondence, and material on the floods of the Mississippi and Atchafalaya.

This collection consists of correspondence and papers relating to the history of southwest Louisiana. These papers are mainly about the history of New Iberia and Iberia Parish. Also included is her master’s thesis submitted to Peabody College. There are other miscellaneous materials as well.
