Scope and Contents This collection consists of copies of transcripts of the letters from Mrs. Margaret Jones Rees Morgan of Morgantown, Berks County, Pennsylvania to her son David Rees in Louisiana (usually sent in care of Benjamin Morgan or George Morgan of New Orleans). The letters are dated from 1804 to 1827. This collection consists of papers presenting the history of the Richardson, Bissell, and Horner families. These include genealogy, writings, photographs, and original letters between family members. There is also a record book dated from 1860-1868 of day-to-day operations on the plantation side. According to the record book, crops planted included cotton and corn, but mainly sugarcane.
