This collection contains a large number of photographs and printed material on the cultivation and manufacturing of rice. Many of the photographs show rice farming, irrigation, equipment, and milling in the Crowley, Louisiana region. Most of the photographs are copy prints. The Barnett Studio of Crowley took many of the photographs. There are also newspapers including the "Golden Jubilee" edition of the "Crowley Signal", publications, pamphlets, and other printed material.

Scope and Contents This collection contains mostly photographs of individuals, weddings and special events taken by Carl Froitzheim. There are also some photographs taken by A. L. Barnett, a photographer from Crowley, Louisiana. There are also other materials such as correspondence, publications, and drawings related to a patent Froitzheim tried to register. This collection contains records mainly from First Lutheran Church of Crowley, LA. This church at times had a joint ministerial appointment with St. John Lutheran Church of Iota, LA and occasionally with Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jennings, LA. It includes correspondence, reports, minutes of related organizations, record books, etc. Some material from other area Lutheran churches is included also.
