This collection contains Dr. Brandon’s working and personal papers. A large portion of the papers include written notes, in both English and French, on Louisiana history, people, cultures, folksongs, and dances. Many of these notes contain sources that she utilized for her research. Additional series include materials on linguistics and education, correspondence, publications from Dr. Brandon and other colleagues, and notecards listed in alphabetical order containing useful resources.

This collection contains the writings of Alton Broussard. The first volume is the entire "Lafayette Guide" newspaper. The two scrapbooks contain his articles from other newspapers, such as the "Daily Advertiser." The list of “Points of Interests in the 'Lafayette Guide'” were compiled by Sam Broussard.

Alton Broussard’s children, Mary Perrin, Sam, and Alton “Skip” II, and his son-in-law, Warren Perrin, donated this collection.

This collection contains unpublished music. Most of the compositions and arrangements by Mildred Ruth Brown are based on French folk songs. There are arrangements for piano, voice, and string orchestra and quartet. Many of the arrangements by George B. Brown are hymn tunes for organ or keyboard. There is also some vocal material.

This collection was originally donated to the Lafayette Parish Library but was transferred to UAAMC as a more fitting repository to hold it.
