Scope and Contents

The Mardi Gras Collection contains information on mainly two organizations: the Lafayette Town House-Order of Troubadours and the Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras Association. There are pageant programs for both of these organizations. Other items of the Order of Troubadours include notebooks containing publicity, pageant scripts, invitations, and photographs. There are seven scrapbooks, which contain pageant programs, invitations, newspaper clippings, photographs, souvenirs, etc. The collection also includes material and artifacts about other organizations such as the Krewe of Attakapas, Krewe of Oberon, Brigands de Lafitte, and LGBTQ+ organizations such as the Krewes of Armeinius, Petronius, and Apollo.

Lyle Williams, Mario Mamalakis, and others donated this collection.
