This collection contains microfilm copies of civil records from Ascension Parish from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The records were filmed in 1971 by the Southwestern Archives and Manuscripts Collection for the Center for Louisiana Studies as an extension of the Colonial Louisiana Records Collection. That collection was transferred to the University Archives and Acadiana Manuscript Collection in 2013.

This collection contains digitized copies of Avoyelles Parish colonial documents. These documents include sales of land, enslaved people, and products, mortgages, declaration of homesteads, and judgements. Also included is an Oil and Gas Map of Louisiana. These documents are in French and English. The physical copies of these documents can be found at the Louisiana State Archives. Donated by Sheldon Roy.
