Throughout much of the company’s existence, a monthly newsletter called ODECO Soundings was released to highlight the activities and accomplishments of ODECO. This collection contains issues of the newsletter from 1969 to 1991.
Susan Couvillon and Doc Laborde’s family donated the collection through Jason Theriot.

Biographical / Historical
The Ocean Drilling & Exploration Company (ODECO) was an offshore oil drilling company founded by Alden J. “Doc” Laborde and John Hayward in 1953. The company was headquartered in New Orleans, and they pioneered semi-submersible drilling rigs. Diamond Offshore Drilling acquired the company in 1992.
