Assumption Parish. Civil Records, 1788-1943
Scope and Contents
This collection contains civil records from Assumption Parish from the 18th and 19th centuries, including original acts, conveyances, marriages, mortgages, sheriff’s sales and miscellaneous records.
Reels 1 and 2 were filmed by G.R. and A.A. Conrad in 1973. These are on 16mm microfilm. There are two copies of each. The other records, on 35mm film, were filmed by Southern Microfilm Corporation in 1989. The film was acquired by the Center for Louisiana Studies as an extension of the Colonial Louisiana Records Collection. That collection was transferred to the University Archives and Acadiana Manuscript Collection in 2013.
