This collection consists of research conducted by Dr. Lindig on notable Louisiana women, women’s rights, and the Equal Rights Amendment. It includes biographical information on prominent women in Louisiana as well as newspaper clippings related to the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. It also includes information on Louisiana Laws, statistics on women, and women’s organizations in Louisiana. The collection includes notes taken by Dr. Lindig on her research.

Scope and Contents The Mardi Gras Collection contains materials derived from various sources, with information primarily on two organizations: the Lafayette Town House-Order of Troubadours and the Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras Association. This collection contains microfiched unbound Louisiana newspapers dating from 1830 to 1995. Most are from Southwestern Louisiana, although there are some from the northern part of the state.

The Lafayette Gazette from 1893 through 1908 are originals unbound in oversize boxes.

Norris Ceaser donated some editions of the Lafayette Daily Advertiser, the Times Picayune: Dixie Photomagazine, and Tiger Talk.
